Airband provide superfast broadbnd to FoxTrax, Shropshire

Background

Based in the small village of Marchamley, FoxTrax is a machine and vehicle operator training centre, delivering certified training for professional use of 4×4 vehicles and agricultural and plant machinery.

The challenge

“Our broadband service was terrible. We were with BT and we were 2km from the cabinet and we were getting speeds of 2.5Mbps on a good day, and when the kids came from school sometimes the broadband dropped out altogether,” explained owner Mike Fox.

The solution

“We jumped at the chance to host an Airband transmitter mast and have an Airband connection! The whole process only took a few weeks. It feels great to know that as well as improving our broadband we can help people in our local community access better broadband too – including our children and grandchildren who live in the village. And our grandchildren are a lot happier to have faster broadband when they visit!

Now, Airband is in the process of integrating a fibre network into its existing wireless network at Marcharmley, so FoxTrax and the local community will have access to ultrafast connectivity.

The results

Faster and more reliable broadband! With an Airband wireless connection, FoxTrax now enjoys average download speeds of 40Mbps and upload speeds of 10Mbps. Once ultrafast fibre broadband is up and running, they will have access to a Gigabit capable network with Airband packages offering 150Mbps download speeds and 50Mbps upload speeds.
