Government Gigabit Broadband Vouchers

If your home or business can’t currently access gigabit-capable broadband, you may be eligible for Government funding to help bring full fibre to your community.

What is the Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme?

The Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme (GBVS) is part of the UK government’s Project Gigabit, helping residents and businesses improve their broadband connections in areas not currently planned for an upgrade.

The GBVS provides small grants (called vouchers) towards the cost of installing gigabit-capable broadband to groups of premises. Vouchers worth up to £4,500 per premises are available. As a registered supplier for the GBVS, Airband can apply for vouchers on your behalf.

Find out more below or visit the GOV.UK website.

How the Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme works

We’ve made the process simple. Airband does the hard work. You simply confirm your details when asked.

Step 1. Preorder your broadband

Enter your postcode below to check whether your property may be eligible. If so, choose your package and preorder your broadband with us.

Step 2. We’ll apply for your voucher

Once you’ve placed your preorder, Airband will submit your voucher application and begin planning your fibre network.

Step 3. Confirm your voucher

You’ll receive two emails from the Government:

  • the first asks you to confirm your voucher application
  • the second asks you to confirm your Airband broadband service is live once you’ve been connected

These emails are essential to the process, so please respond promptly when you receive them.

Throughout your project, our Fibre Projects team will keep you updated on progress and answer any questions you may have.

If you’d like to speak to us, email [email protected].

FAQ's about the Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme

Your property may qualify if:

  • you cannot currently access a gigabit-capable broadband connection
  • there are no commercial plans to build a gigabit-capable network in your area
  • there is no existing Government-funded broadband rollout planned for your property
  • your property forms part of a community project with at least one other eligible property

Eligibility is assessed by the Government and is subject to approval.

Eligible homes and eligible small businesses can receive up to £4,500 per property towards the cost of building a new gigabit-capable broadband network.
