Ripley – 4th April

Andrew Scott takes on the lead role of Ripley, a charming con artist in 1960s New York. He’s hired by a wealthy man to travel to Italy and convince his son, Dickie Greenleaf (played by Johnny Flynn), to return home. However, things take a dark turn when Ripley becomes fixated on Dickie’s life and descends into a world of deceit, murder, and impersonation.

The series also stars Dakota Fanning and is directed by Steven Zaillian. With its psychological suspense and complex characters, “Ripley” has garnered interest from fans of the novels and newcomers alike.

Scoop – 5th April

“Scoop,” which hit Netflix on April 5th, is a drama film delving into the story behind Prince Andrew’s infamous interview with Emily Maitlis on BBC’s Newsnight program.

The film centers around the investigative journalism that secured the interview and the impact it had. It’s inspired by the memoir of Sam McAlister, a former Newsnight editor, and features Gillian Anderson portraying Maitlis. Keeley Hawes steps into the role of McAlister, with Billie Piper and Rufus Sewell also starring.

“Scoop” explores the challenges and triumphs faced by the journalists in securing this explosive interview and the subsequent fallout for Prince Andrew.

What Jennifer Did – 10th April

This new true-crime documentary dives into the chilling case of Jennifer Pan. The story begins with a seemingly normal family targeted by a home invasion. Jennifer, the daughter, calls 911 reporting her parents were shot, leaving her the sole witness.

However, as investigators delve deeper, a web of lies and shocking truths unravel. “What Jennifer Did” explores the complexities of the case through police interrogation footage, interviews with those involved, and attempts to understand the motive behind the horrific crime. Directed by Jenny Popplewell (known for “American Murder: The Family Next Door”), the documentary promises a suspenseful exploration of this real-life tragedy.

Woody Woodpecker Goes to Camp – 12th April

Woody Woodpecker is back for another adventure, and this time he’s headed to Camp Woo Hoo! This live-action/animated film, releasing on Netflix on April 12th, follows Woody’s mishaps as he gets kicked out of his forest home.

Thinking he’s found paradise, Woody settles into the fun-loving Camp Woo Hoo. However, trouble arises when a grumpy inspector threatens to shut down the camp. Woody, with his signature brand of chaotic energy, might be the only one who can save the day (or will he cause even more mayhem?)

This slapstick comedy film, directed by Jon Rosenbaum, promises to be a hilarious adventure perfect for families looking for some light-hearted entertainment.

The Upshaws (part 5) – 18th April

The new season of the popular Netflix sitcom, “The Upshaws (Part 5),” arrives on April 18th. Here’s a quick look at what to expect:

The Upshaw Family Returns: We’ll be reunited with the hilarious and heartwarming Upshaw family, led by Bennie Upshaw (Mike Epps), a charming mechanic juggling work and family life. His wife Regina (Kim Fields) and their kids will be back, along with his teenage son from another relationship and his ever-sarcastic sister-in-law (Wanda Sykes).

Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver – 19th April

This film picks up right where the first part, “Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire” (released in December 2023), left off.

Kora’s Fight Continues: We rejoin Kora (played by Sofia Boutella) and the surviving warriors who have found refuge on the moon of Veldt. They must now prepare to defend their newfound home against the tyrannical forces of the Motherworld, led by the resurrected villain, Noble.

This Zack Snyder directed sequel promises to be a visually stunning and action-packed continuation of the sci-fi saga.

The Casagrandes Movie – 22nd March

The Casagrandes Movie, is an animated film based on the Nickelodeon series “The Casagrandes,” a spin-off of “The Loud House.”

In the movie, 12-year-old Ronnie Anne Santiago, the main protagonist, travels to Mexico for her birthday with her family. However, her plans for a relaxing vacation are interrupted when she accidentally frees a mischievous demigod trapped in a mountain.

With the help of her family and friends, Ronnie Anne must now embark on a quest to set things right and contain the demigod’s chaotic energy before it causes widespread havoc. This adventure takes them on a journey through the vibrant city and its rich cultural heritage, while also highlighting themes of family, friendship, and responsibility.

Top Gun: Maverick – 22nd March

After more than 30 years of service as a top Navy aviator, Pete “Maverick” Mitchell (Tom Cruise) is where he belongs: pushing the envelope as a courageous test pilot and dodging the advancement in rank that would ground him. However, his way of life takes a turn when he is called back to TOP GUN, the elite Navy Strike Fighter Tactics Instructor program, where he must train a new group of graduates for a dangerous and seemingly impossible mission.
