It’s a first-person shooter and adventure game, developed by Crows Crows Crows. You can buy or stream this single-player Xbox game. It was originally a critically-acclaimed indie game but has since been redeveloped and expanded for Xbox.

The Stanley Parable is a first-person adventure game about a man named Stanley, who discovers that the co-workers in his office have mysteriously vanished. It is your job to get answers. The iconic thing about this game is that it always keeps you on your toes and never lets you figure out how it works. As soon as you think you’ve worked out the rules of the game, the rules change again, and again, and again.

2. Grand Theft Auto V

Everybody who has an Xbox has a copy of Grand Theft Auto V, and if you don’t you should go and pick one up.

It has an intricate crime thriller storyline and is a popular classic among lots of gamers. It’s great fun to play whether you’re on a single-player campaign or using the online multiplayer mode with your friends. It’s set in Los Santos and is one of the most popular single-player campaign games of all time.

3. Return of the Obra Dinn

This entire game is actually a puzzle video game for you to figure out. The Obra Dinn ship goes missing in 1802, and mysteriously turns up back in port five years later, with no surviving crew. You’re tasked with solving the mystery by completing a series of puzzles and challenges. The game’s graphics follow an unusual black-and-white style, making it all the harder to unravel the clues.

4. Forza Horizon 4

When you play, you control Zagreus, who is the son of Hades. The aim of the game (which has been described as a dungeon crawler) is to escape from the underworld, however, there are plenty of monsters and angry souls in your way.

6. Red Dead Redemption II

Red Dead Redemption II was released back in October 2018 by Rockstar Games, and since it has been one of the most well-loved Xbox One games ever, mainly because of its awesome single-player campaign. If you’re looking for a game that will keep you entertained for hours, we recommend this one due to the sheer amount of content in the game. It’s an open-world game with endless missions and new storylines to explore.

What’s an open-world game? An open-world setting is where you can roam freely as you play the game, whereas a closed-world game is where you have to follow that storyline.

7. Quantum Break

Quantum Break gives you about 10 hours worth of playing time. While it’s not an open-world game, it’s still one of the best single player Xbox One games to play.

It’s got a cinematic feel to it, but it gives you a real action adventure storyline too. In the game, you play as a man who’s been given supernatural abilities from a failed science experiment, which allows him to manipulate time. In the game, you must use your powers to prevent an impending apocalypse. Your choices will ultimately affect the storyline and how the game ends.

8. Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain

9. Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order

If you’re a big fan of Star Wars, you’ve got to check out Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order. This single-player Xbox game has plenty of playtime and is thought to be a really good experience for gamers in the UK. The story is supposed to be set five years after Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith. You play as a young Jedi who becomes a target of the Galactic Empire and is being hunted down by adversaries while trying to rebuild the fallen Jedi Order and become a full Jedi himself.
