Stay Connected – how we’re responding to Covid-19

24th March, 2020 | Announcements

Reading time: 2 minutes

In times of uncertainty, you can rest assured that we are working around the clock to maintain our normal services for our all our existing customers, and any new customers waiting for their broadband connection to be installed.

As the whole country is social distancing, we stand with you in striving to get you online and keep you connected – whether you’re working from home, home schooling or simply need to stay in touch with family and friends.

However – as demand increases – our resources are being stretched. We are investigating the best way to prioritise new connections, in some cases this means that your original survey/ installation date may have to be rescheduled.

Our priority for surveys/installations right now include:

  • Key workers (medics, carers, other blue light professionals)
  • Vulnerable people in very isolated parts of the country

We’re also working on solutions to both speed up surveys and installations, at the same time as minimising human interaction – e.g. installing temporary connections in a way that means our engineers do not have to enter your home or business.

For existing customers – we are prioritising critical connection issues for customer support visits. In the majority of instances, our engineers don’t need to enter your property – and any conversations with you can be conducted via mobile phone. For both your and our engineers’ protection, we kindly ask that (with social distancing best practice in mind) you do not approach the engineer. Our engineers have all been briefed that they can leave a property should they feel that their health and safety are being compromised.

If you have any questions or concerns – please contact us on 01905 676 121 (Option 1) but please be aware that call waiting times may be longer due to increased call volumes.

We’re sorry for any inconvenience caused by this. Please stay home and stay safe.
