Enjoy glitch-free broadband when you work from home

Not all broadband connections are built for home working. Slow speeds, dropouts and lag can disrupt video calls, delay file uploads and make even simple tasks drag on.

With Airband, you can enjoy ultra-reliable, ultrafast speeds of up to 1000Mbps that help you stay productive around the clock.

Why reliable broadband is a non-negotiable when you work from home

Modern home working involves more than just checking emails. From cloud platforms and shared documents to video calls and collaboration tools, when you’re working from home your connection needs to support multiple tasks at once. When bandwidth is limited or inconsistent, even small delays can add up and disrupt your productivity.

A fibre (FTTP) connection gives you the stability to handle busy workdays without worrying about who else is online, or what’s running in the background. Whether you’re presenting on a call, downloading large files, or pushing your browser to the limits with 100+ open tabs, Airband’s FTTP broadband will give you the consistent connection you need to stay productive, collaborate seamlessly, and work without disruption.

  • Faster, more consistent connection
  • Stable video calls
  • Seamless multitasking
  • Easier collaboration

Fibre provides high-speed connectivity. It enables you to:

  1. Connect multiple devices at the same time
  2. Download and upload files with out waiting
  3. Enjoy, smooth, clear video calls

Fibre is considered to be the most reliable broadband for working from home. It is also future-proofed, so you can be sure that it will provide you with a fast internet connection for years to come.

Find out more about fibre broadband: what is fibre broadband?

The main practical differences between fibre and ADSL (Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line) connections come down to cost and reliability.

ADSL can be cheaper than fibre connections – but, when it comes to speed and reliability ADSL connections are no comparison to fibre.

Although there are plenty of mobile broadband providers offering excellent broadband speeds, a mobile connection is rarely fast or reliable enough for working from home.

Mobile broadband may suffice if you are travelling or you’re away from your home office for a few hours, but it doesn’t offer the capability and reliability of fibre broadband.

You don’t need a phone line to benefit from our ultrafast fibre broadband, and since most office activities can be conducted via this connection, it’s unlikely you will require a landline for working from home.

However, if this is something you want, or need in order to perform your role, we can offer this with our Airband Talk broadband and VoIP packages.

The broadband speed you need for working from home depends on how you use the internet during your day. For basic tasks like emails and browsing, around 10–25 Mbps is usually enough, while most office roles involving video calls and cloud tools work best with 25–50 Mbps.

If you regularly multitask, download large files, or share your connection with others, 50–100 Mbps provides more breathing room, and high-bandwidth roles like design or development may benefit from 100 Mbps or more.

However, speed isn’t the only thing that matters. A stable connection, good bandwidth and low latency will make a bigger difference to your experience than headline speeds alone. For most households, aiming for at least 50 Mbps ensures smooth calls, reliable performance, and fewer interruptions throughout the workday.
