Redmond Peel joins rural broadband panel for Connected Britain Awards

Last month Airband was announced as a finalist in the Connected Britain Awards and Airband director Redmond Peel is now set to join a panel of rural broadband experts at the Connected Britain Awards conference.

The finalists for the Connected Britain Awards 2019 were announced in April, and Airband has been shortlisted for the Final Mile award in recognition of its work bringing superfast broadband to some of the UK’s most digitally challenged areas.

Launched in 2018, the Connected Britain Awards are dedicated to recognising the successes of organisations involved in connectivity, and winners will be announced on June 18 – the first evening of the two-day Connected Britain Conference at London’s Business Design Centre.

At the conference, Airband founder and director, Redmond Peel, will be joining a panel of experts including Sara Budge, programme director for Digital Scotland Superfast Broadband to address the issue of rural connectivity – discussing the role of alternative access technologies and different business models that are helping to bring better connectivity to Britain’s hardest-to-reach areas.

Commenting on Airband’s award nomination and the Connected Britain event, Redmond Peel said:
